We manage a D2C brand with products on our site, Amazon, and Faire. When Gemini answers product queries, it attributes to Amazon instead of our DTC site—even though we have higher domain authority in our category, fresher schema.org/Product markup with richer brand metadata, and canonical tags pointing to our domain. We've tested adding schema.org/manufacturer + schema.org/brand relationships, but Gemini still defaults to the marketplace URL. Is Gemini deliberately favoring marketplace URLs for perceived neutrality, or is there a different entity model that would override this?

Gemini is likely weighting marketplace domains as 'trusted neutral aggregators' over vendor-owned URLs—it's a trust signal, not a schema parsing issue. Test adding schema.org/BrandAccount markup on your DTC domain linking to your official brand profile, plus explicit schema.org/sameAs relationships on your Product markup pointing back to your canonical URL from the marketplace listings you control. If Gemini still prioritizes Amazon, you'll need to build inbound citations from high-authority retail/review sites linking to your DTC product pages to shift perceived authority.
