We manage a niche B2B analytics platform and noticed that when Perplexity answers 'which tools integrate with [data platform X]?' queries, it cites our platform in the answer text but the attribution link routes to a 404 or an old product page from 12+ months ago—not our current integrations hub. Our domain authority is solid, schema.org/SoftwareApplication is marked up on the live version, and Perplexity crawls us 2–3x per week. Is this a URL canonicalization issue where Perplexity is holding an old crawl snapshot, or should we be adding schema.org/version or schema.org/temporalCoverage signals to force re-attribution to the latest page?

This is a crawl freshness + caching issue on Perplexity's side, not canonicalization. Add schema.org/dateModified and schema.org/version to your SoftwareApplication markup, then submit a recrawl request if Perplexity has a tool for it. More immediately: check if those old URLs still exist or are 301-redirecting properly—if Perplexity is caching a redirect chain, it may not follow through. Force a re-crawl by updating your schema and posting a new internal link to the integrations hub from your homepage.
